Responsibilities

We are hiring a SolarWinds Engineer at Peterson AFB, Scott AFB, or Hanscom AFB to support our Air Force Modernization program. 

What you’ll do:

SolarWinds Implementation and Management:
• Lead the design and implementation of SolarWinds solutions to monitor and manage network performance, availability, and security.
• Configure and customize SolarWinds modules to align with organizational requirements.

• Develop and implement custom Solarwinds dashboards and alerts to meet the requirements of the application teams, customers and government program office.

• The Solarwinds Engineer must be able to work effectively with the Enterprise Architects, OS engineers, and operation support teams to provide training, develop guidelines and serve as a subject matter expert for the enterprise monitoring solution.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis:
• Utilize SolarWinds tools to monitor and analyze network performance, identify trends, and proactively address issues.
• Optimize SolarWinds configurations to ensure efficient use of network resources.

Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
• Respond to SolarWinds alerts promptly, investigating and resolving network incidents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and mitigate SolarWinds-related issues.

Security and Compliance:
• Implement and enforce security best practices for SolarWinds, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of network data.
• Ensure SolarWinds configurations comply with industry/government standards and regulatory requirements.

Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain comprehensive documentation related to SolarWinds configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Respond to requests for and provide data for reports to higher level government officials in a expeditious manner
• Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and SolarWinds utilization for management review.

8 hours on-site M-F, day shift. The team is responsible for on-call for emergency support on nights and weekends.

Qualifications

8 years with BS/BA, 6 years with MS/MA, in lieu of degree 12 years of applicable experience will be acceptable. 

What you'll need:

• 5+ years of experience in SolarWinds monitoring
• DoD Secret clearance
• Currently possess DOD 8570, IAT Level II Security+ certification or equivalent

Desired qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in scripting development
• SolarWinds certification (SolarWinds Certified Professional - SCP or equivalent).
• Experience with IT service management best practices such as change, problem, incident, configuration and service level management is strongly preferred
• Experience with security process management and documentation
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Experience with task coordination and management
• Preferred but not required: BS Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security or solid IA background

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
