Job Description

Job Summary:
The Marina Dockhand/Attendant will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to marina guests and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the marina. The position involves assisting with boat docking, fueling, maintenance tasks, and other marina services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for boating, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.

• Customer Service:
  • Greet and assist marina guests with docking and undocking of boats.
  • Provide information on marina services, local attractions, and boating regulations.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
    
     
• Dock Operations:
  • Assist in the docking and securing of vessels, ensuring proper line handling and fender placement.
  • Operate marina equipment, such as dock carts and pumps, safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of docks and surrounding areas.
    
     
• Fueling Operations:
  • Safely fuel boats according to established procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Handle fuel sales transactions and maintain accurate records.
    
     
• Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marina equipment and facilities.
  • Inspect docks, walkways, and facilities regularly to ensure they are in good condition and free of hazards.
  • Assist with seasonal setup and takedown of docks, buoys, and other equipment.
    
     
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as spills or accidents, in a calm and effective manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal boating and environmental regulations.

• Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a marina or boating environment is preferred.
• Skills:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
  • Basic mechanical skills for routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge of boating and marina operations is an asset.
• Certifications:
  • Boater safety certification is a plus.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

• Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
• Schedule:
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.
  • Flexible scheduling may be required during peak boating season.
