POSITION DETAILS

CUNY TV, the City University of New York???s television station, has been educating and informing viewers for more than three decades, remaining committed to extending CUNY???s academic mission to offer lifelong learning opportunities to all New Yorkers. Established in 1985, CUNY TV reaches 7.3 million broadcast households in the New York metro area from its studios at the CUNY Graduate Center. CUNY TV is broadcast over the air on channel 25.3 and in the five boroughs via cable channels, Spectrum and Optimum on channel 75, RCN on channel 77 and Verizon FiOS on channel 30.

The Business Office Coordinator plays a pivotal role at the station, coordinating crucial functions both within the CUNY TV Business Office and the CUNY TV Foundation, responsible for Budget Management, Purchasing and Accounting tasks, and the support of other station operations as needed. In the absence of the Senior Business Manager, this role handles all aspects of the Business Office Operations.

Key duties include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Supports the tracking, through maintenance of comprehensive spreadsheets and analytical tools to track expenditures and facilitate effective budget management.
  • Coordinates station procurement card operations, including ordering, processing receipts, and tracking expenditures.
  • Gathers supporting documents from staff, drafts business justifications, and reconciles transactions in CUNYfirst.
  • Handles all procurement and accounts payable functions at the department level, works closely with Central Office; generates requisitions in CUNYBUY with supporting documents and justifications; monitors purchase orders, processes invoices for payment in CUNYBUY, and ensures necessary supporting documents and certification for payment by end users are included; addresses in-house and vendor concerns promptly.
  • Assists with gathering information for internal and external audits and reports as needed by CUNY TV Executive Director or COO.
  • Processes production staff requests for Certificates of Insurance related to multimedia or general liability insurances.
  • Coordinates catering services for authorized meetings and events at the station, in compliance with University, State, and City policies and protocols.
  • Assists with coordination and processing of Travel and Expense requests utilizing CUNYfirst Modules.
  • Dispenses petty cash and maintains records.
  • Supports CUNY TV Foundation operations, aids in purchasing, accounts payable, records management, and gift receipt distribution for charitable giving to with the Foundation.

NOTE:

Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and work on-site in the office.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

Bachelor's Degree required.

Preferred

The ideal candidate should demonstrate or possess:

  • Bachelor???s degree in business administration, finance, or another related field.
  • Two years of experience in office coordination, accounts payable and receivable, budgets, and other financial operations preferred.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail oriented and accurate with strong numerical analysis, evaluation, and research skills.
  • Ability to work productively as an individual contributor and collaboratively as a team member in a time-sensitive and customer responsive office.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The salary range is $44,411 to $46,103 , commensurate with education, credentials, and experience.
