Kaeppel Consulting is looking for a technically skilled Business Analyst I, II & III with a focus on systems integration and optimization within the court reporting and recording industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in analyzing, designing, and implementing IT systems that align with business goals. This role is essential in ensuring that the technology supporting our court reporting and recording services is efficient, reliable, and aligned with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Systems Analysis and Design :
- Analyze current IT systems related to court reporting and recording, including digital transcription software, case management systems, and recording devices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their system needs, challenges, and objectives.
- Design and document system specifications, including use cases, data models, process flows, and system architecture diagrams.
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation :
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to gather and document detailed system requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications that guide system development and implementation.
- Ensure all system requirements align with the overall business strategy and operational needs.
- System Integration and Implementation :
- Lead and manage the integration of new systems and technologies into existing court reporting and recording workflows.
- Oversee the configuration, customization, and deployment of systems to ensure seamless integration with other technologies.
- Conduct system testing, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate that the system meets all requirements and functions as intended.
- Technology Evaluation and Selection :
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of court reporting and recording services.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and risk assessments to support decision-making on technology investments.
- Participate in vendor selection processes, including preparing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and negotiating contracts.
- Data Management and Reporting :
- Develop and maintain data models, databases, and reporting systems to support the management and analysis of court reporting data.
- Create dashboards, reports, and analytics tools that provide real-time insights into system performance and business operations.
- Monitor system performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication :
- Serve as the primary liaison between business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to gather input, share findings, and build consensus on system initiatives.
- Prepare and present system-related updates, reports, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Risk Management and Compliance :
- Identify potential risks associated with system implementations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all systems comply with legal and regulatory requirements specific to the court reporting and recording industry.
- Support audits and compliance reviews by providing necessary documentation and insights.
- Continuous Improvement :
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in system analysis, design, and implementation.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve system processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and coach junior business analysts, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CBAP, CSBA, PMP) is a plus.
- Experience : 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on systems analysis and technology solutions, preferably within the legal, court reporting, or similar industries.
- Skills :
- Strong technical skills with the ability to analyze, design, and implement complex IT systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in system analysis tools and techniques, including process modeling, data modeling, and system architecture design.
- Familiarity with court reporting and recording technologies, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello) is an asset.
