Saltwater Bakeshop is looking for a baker to join the team!

We are a small yet fast growing bakery specializing in croissants and naturally leavened breads. Our menu is deeply influenced by the classics and we have grown a very loyal and enthusiastic clientele with our variety of bread offerings and a unique take on familiar items. We are currently working in a shared commercial kitchen space but will be moving into our own space soon. We sell our products at multiple farmers markets throughout San Francisco and have a growing wholesale program.

We focus on using organic ingredients and seasonal, locally sourced produce from the farmers markets. Our menu changes regularly and would love to hire someone who is excited about making some creative contributions.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of professional experience baking in a fast paced, professional setting with knowledge of bead and/or viennoiserie. We are a small team and there will be opportunities to work on all aspects of production. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to expand their skill set. Full time preferred, but part time could work for the right candidate depending on availability.

Some tasks include:

• Mixing/shaping/baking a variety or breads such as baguettes, country sourdough, rye bread
• Mixing/shaping/baking croissants
• Production of pastry components IE: jams and pastry creams, crumble topping, etc
• Menu development

Job requirements:

• Must be legal to work in the U.S.
• Must be available early mornings and weekends
• Ability to maintain quality standards while working with a sense or urgency
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Valid California food handler’s certification
• Proof of Covid vaccine
• Must be available for 2am weekend shifts both Saturday and Sunday
